Words of Recognition

Like many pilots I’ve been working my way up the aviation food chain for a number of years.  As Covid 19 had the country in lock down I finished a hot section on my TBM 850 and thought that was the perfect time to sell it.  I had always planned to move up to a jet airplane and began a spreadsheet to scout out the likely suspects but also began reading a Beechtalk thread started by my….READ MORE

Why this aircraft?

  1. What was unique about this plane was that it had only had one owner since it was built.  And relatively speaking he didn’t fly that much so it had less than a thousand hours on it.  Practically new!
  2. I bought it because it was very low time, in wonderful condition and the price was right.
  3. What I love about it is its fast (we cruise at FL 350 between 350 and 380 knots), comfortable, has decent range, very well built and relatively economical for a plane of its capabilities.  And it’s a biplane!  That’s right, that stubby little catfish whisker up front is not a Canard but a wing.  Two wings makes a biplane!
